Map and Directions

Useful information for visiting preachers can be found on the Services and Activities page.

Castle Street Methodist Church can be found on Castle Street, Cambridge, CB3 0AH. Castle Street rises from the north side of Cambridge city centre up Castle Hill to the County Council buildings (Shire Hall) and Castle Mound. The church is about halfway up the hill.

Please note that due to our refurbishment project, we are currently using the Castle End Mission building, which is behind Castle Street Methodist Church, on the corner of St Peter's Street and Pound Hill.

You may find the journey planner at Transport Direct useful.

Rail

National Rail have a rail journey planner. Alternatively there is a more accessible user interface to the railway timetable.

Castle Street Methodist Church is about 2.5km from Cambridge railway station. The Citi 1 bus runs every 10 minutes Mondays-Saturdays and every 30 minutes on Sundays. Get off at Chesterton Road/Hertford Street and walk along Chesterton Road to Castle Street then up the hill to the church.

Bus

Citi bus routes 1, 2, 5 and 7 all run close to the church. Stagecoach have maps and timetables.

Bicycle

There are many cycle routes in Cambridge. You may find the Cambridge Cycling Campaign journey planner helpful.

Unfortunately there is a lack of decent cycle parking close to the church. On the Castle Street side, there are some old-fashioned "butterfly" racks between the church and church hall, as well as the iron railings.

Car

The main access to Cambridge is by means of either the A14 trunk road or the M11 motorway. At M11 Junction 13, only southern access is provided.
