The Case Against...
Our minister Robert Dolman begins the church's new year with a Thursday evening series.
We shall look at some common difficulties that people and perhaps we ourselves often experience about Christian beliefs and try to strengthen our own faith and understanding.
The topics will be:
- God so often seems silent and absent
- Worship has no point
- The Christian God is a male despot
- Christianity is obsessed with sin and guilt
- Nature is red in tooth and claw
- A loving God would not allow us to suffer so much
- Eternal punishment suggests God is cruel
- Religion is divisive
- Religion is stuck with the Bible in the past
- Religion keeps people immature
- There are plenty of good people of other faiths and none
- I can be spiritual without being religious
The first of the series begins at Castle Street at 1930 on Thursday 25th September. Everyone is welcome.
