Autumn Lectures 2006

Note: This programme of lectures has now finished.

Castle Street is to host two notable lectures in November. Both lectures start at 1930 and proceeds from the retiring collection will go towards Mission and Social Responsibility Committee funds. Everyone is most welcome.

9th November Rejoice and Sing? - The Church and Music

Rev John Swarbrick studied Music at Durham University, was a student at Wesley House and is an accomplished pianist. Until recently he was chair of the London South West District. He is now a minister in the Harrow and Hillingdon Circuit.

23rd November Is Spirituality Replacing Religion?

Rev Michaela Youngson is Secretary for Pastoral Care and Spirituality in the Methodist Connexional Team. She worked for some years as a minister in Lancashire and, prior to her theological training, she worked for Traidcraft, aerospace and the civil service. She oversaw the Prayer Without Ceasing project in which the whole of methodism took part.
