Development Project
We had previously hoped to build a new church building on Castle Street. However after much work on the plans and finance for this new building, our existing building was given Grade II Listed status. After discussion with relevant bodies, we do not believe that we can now obtain permission to demolish the existing Listed building.
We believe that our existing building can be refurbished to combine modern facilities, accessible by all, with a welcoming exterior and preservation of important historic features. This will require much work and further financial cost. Details of plans will be placed on the website when available.
We are thankful for all donations made towards the cost of a new building prior to our current building being given Grade II Listed status. As demolition of the existing building is no longer permissible, we will refurbish our existing premises because we believe that this can support our vision as a church. We will contact donors, wherever possible, to seek permission to use money already donated for a new building to support this new scheme.
