We use the Methodist Worship Book, mainly for communion services, but also for festivals and other important dates on the Christian calendar. We have a braille edition of the worship book, which is available on request from the door steward. For the children, there is a special edition of the communion service with pictures.
Our main hymnbook is Hymns and Psalms. We have a braille edition, which is available on request from the door steward. We also sing from Mission Praise Part 1 and have a copyright licence to reproduce words from Songs of Fellowship 1 and 2. We draw on a number of other sources for music.
The New Revised Standard Version of the Bible (NRSV) can be found in the pews. There are two large print copies available on request, again from the door steward.
A public address system is used during services and there is a loop system for the hard-of-hearing.
Sunday Morning 1045
Sunday morning service is the principal service held each week. Holy Communion takes place once a month. All-age worship with participation of the Junior Church is also monthly, followed by coffee and a Traidcraft stall. There are also services commemorating the events in the Church Year. A prayer request book is provided.
Sunday Morning Junior Church
Junior Church meets in the church hall every Sunday from the main morning service, except during all-age services.
For babies and toddlers there is a creche, which is staffed by a rota of experienced members of the congregation at the same time as the morning service,
Sunday Evening 1830
Evening Services are always shared with our friends from Castle End Mission and the venue alternates between Castle Street and the Mission. Shared worship with the Parish of the Ascension is every second Sunday evening of each month here at Castle Street.
We were visited by the mystery worshipper in 2002. Read the report.
Home Visits
Members of Castle Street will be pleased to visit anyone who may be unable to get to church or has a particular need and the Minister will be pleased to arrange for Communion to be given at home to anyone who wishes it.
Transport
We operate a pool of drivers who are willing to provide transport to anyone who would otherwise be unable to attend. Please telephone Audrey Seaton on +44 (0) 1223 232115.

The Minister leads a fortnightly discussion/study group entitled Baker's Dozen on alternate Thursdays at 1930.

Parents and Tots meet on Thursdays 0945-1145. Children from babies to pre-school age are welcome. Activities include arts and crafts, toys, stories and music. Only 50p per family.
For more details, please contact Katy Salmon using the contact form or just turn up on the day.
Coffee Mornings
Coffee Mornings are held on most Tuesday mornings from 1030-1200. These are run by members of Castanet and proceeds are given to a variety of good causes. See the events page for details.
Fair Trade
An important part of our role in Missions and Social Responsibility at Castle Street is promoting Fair Trade. To learn more about Fair Trade, please visit The Fairtrade Foundation website.
Castle Street is a certified Fairtrade church. We serve fairly-traded coffee and tea at all church events. We also run a Traidcraft stall on Sundays after all-age worship and hold special events during Fairtrade Fortnight in March.
Lectures
We have arranged many successful series of lectures throughout the year.
Music Circle
The Music Circle meets to listen to music and arranges trips to London with Milton Parish Church for concerts by leading orchestras. Further information from John Baker on +44 (0) 1223 425248.
Weddings, Baptisms and Funerals
The church is available by arrangement with the Minister for weddings, baptisms and funeral services.
